</div><br />
While at <a href="http://www.michaelsahi.com/">Michael's Custom Clothiers</a> this weekend I stumbled across a beautiful fabric made out of Worsted Wool (50%), Linen (30%) & Silk (20%). The fabric came in a multitude of designs and colors but my favorite were the houndstooth and herringbone. They were both tan and navy a striking combination. Perfect for warm weather, or year around in a warm weather city like Los Angeles.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/St1MTmm73UI/AAAAAAAABLs/jSRsBHdvb-s/s1600-h/houndstooth+suit+fabric.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/St1MTmm73UI/AAAAAAAABLs/jSRsBHdvb-s/s320/houndstooth+suit+fabric.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Personally, I would opt for the herringbone design to be made into a suit and the houndstooth to be made into an odd jacket. Either option would be quite fun to be seen made into a finished piece. The fabrics were part of a Savile Row "Island" collection. Neither textile would be seen in on the rack made to wear clothing. Yet another reason to get your suits & jackets made bespoke, selection.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-19001174197564694882009-10-18T21:22:00.000-07:002009-10-18T21:23:06.195-07:00Bespoke Shirts<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoUck9mOI/AAAAAAAABLU/e4jH4oBGTvY/s1600-h/Collars+wall.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoUck9mOI/AAAAAAAABLU/e4jH4oBGTvY/s320/Collars+wall.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Yesterday I had the fortune to go to <a href="http://www.michaelsahi.com/">Michael's Custom Clothiers</a> and order six shirts for my wardrobe. These six shirts were at a very reasonable price of 440 which comes to $73 per shirt. These shirts are custom made and will fit my body type. They are all meant to be worn for business and with ties, but can be worn without a tie.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoYHe3QEI/AAAAAAAABLc/GcgQdr3BSP4/s1600-h/Green+fabrics.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoYHe3QEI/AAAAAAAABLc/GcgQdr3BSP4/s320/Green+fabrics.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
I have a thick neck, 17 inches, but like my shirts to be slim fitting in the arms, chest and waist. The medium size store bought shirts that I prefer, typically come with a 15 inch neck, much to small for me to button and wear a tie with. The shirts big enough for my neck look like moo moos on my frame. This means that I must purchase custom shirts to achieve the desired look.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoQPj0jrI/AAAAAAAABLM/_SR8cSAw5y0/s1600-h/Blue+Striped+fabric.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoQPj0jrI/AAAAAAAABLM/_SR8cSAw5y0/s320/Blue+Striped+fabric.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
I went in and picked the fabrics and the design elements for these shirts. They are all going to barrel cuff and most with a medium spread collar. One, in a light blue oxford cloth, has a button down collar. Another in a white and subtle light mint stripe, pictured, will have a spread collar. I also picked up some striped and checked shirts as well, including a banker stripe, also shown. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoMOGNw2I/AAAAAAAABLE/7ZGedRXX74E/s1600-h/Blue+Banker+Stripe+fabric.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StvoMOGNw2I/AAAAAAAABLE/7ZGedRXX74E/s320/Blue+Banker+Stripe+fabric.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
These shirts will be finished in the next month or two. When they are finished I will for sure show off the finished product on here. With bespoke shirts you can also choose the type of collar, cuff, monogram and pocket or no pocket, as well as any other customization you prefer. Custom shirts are certainly a great option for any man with unusual dimensions that ready to wear shirts can not accommodate. Try some out, they can help out your wardrobe too.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-1797399642005855552009-10-17T08:36:00.000-07:002009-10-17T08:36:03.250-07:00New York City Awaits...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Stnj8sbUd_I/AAAAAAAABKs/NYNlx0dwQ0I/s1600-h/uniqlo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Stnj8sbUd_I/AAAAAAAABKs/NYNlx0dwQ0I/s320/uniqlo.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>At the end of October I will be traveling to New York for the weekend. Part business, part pleasure. I am certainly looking forward to shopping in NYC. One of the stores that I am really excited to check out is <a href="http://www.uniqlo.com/">Uniqlo</a>. I want to see the quality and fit of the clothes up close and personal, as well as pick up a few items if the clothes hold up to my standards. From pictures alone, they certainly do.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Stnj-QLpmaI/AAAAAAAABK8/63WalUnxIW4/s1600-h/trench+coat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Stnj-QLpmaI/AAAAAAAABK8/63WalUnxIW4/s320/trench+coat.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Uniqlo is kind of like H&M, inexpensive clothes made in Europe. They carry everything from casual t-shirts to wool suits. I am very interested in checking out the no wale corduroy jacket that they are selling for $69.95. I love the idea of a no wale cord, I hope it lives up to my expectations. I also want to check out their trench coat, which is only $99. Both seem like a good deal to me. Finally, I am interested in their buffalo check flannel shirt for only $39. Hopefully, the shirt fits nicely as I would rather get that shirt for $39 from Uniqlo than for $69 from <a href="http://www.jcrew.com/">J Crew</a> or $85 from <a href="http://www.woolrich.com/">Woolrich</a>, essentially they are the same shirt, at least in pictures. I will know more once I am there.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Stnj9tjEkPI/AAAAAAAABK0/d5GJZrD_Akw/s1600-h/Buffalo+Check.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Stnj9tjEkPI/AAAAAAAABK0/d5GJZrD_Akw/s320/Buffalo+Check.jpg" /></a><br />
</div>I am certainly going to be checking out additional stores in New York, let me know if you have any suggestions on cool stores to check out. I will also keep you posted on my Uniqlo finds.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-15528457980411360282009-10-15T06:00:00.000-07:002009-10-15T06:00:06.025-07:00Style Profile - Lino Ieluzzi<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQlchM5XI/AAAAAAAABKc/XHi-4zfJKZ8/s1600-h/lino+odd+jacket.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQlchM5XI/AAAAAAAABKc/XHi-4zfJKZ8/s320/lino+odd+jacket.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Milan is known for its great style, which comes from all of the men in Milan and the amazing stores in the city. One of those iconic Milan stores shaping the style of the city is <a href="http://www.albazarmilano.it/">Al Bazar</a>. Not the classic styles of Milan, but instead the Sprezzatura fashion that Milan does so well. The customers of Al Bazar are shopping the styles, fashion, collection and tailoring of its owner Lino Ieluzzi. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQfyWq0mI/AAAAAAAABJ0/2pAGw0oXyao/s1600-h/Lino+DB.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQfyWq0mI/AAAAAAAABJ0/2pAGw0oXyao/s320/Lino+DB.JPG" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQmQ7XhKI/AAAAAAAABKk/AssPnK1uuKc/s1600-h/Lino+overcoat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQmQ7XhKI/AAAAAAAABKk/AssPnK1uuKc/s320/Lino+overcoat.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
<br />
Lino Ieluzzi is a master of Sprezzatura, color and the double breasted suit. He wears a wallet or watch chain hanging from his belt. He buttons his tie into his jacket or leaves it twisted. He wears a pocket square thrown into the breast pocket stylistically carelessly. He pairs colors together that few would naturally think work well together. All and all Ieluzzi's style is careless, but planned; thoughtful, but looks thoughtless; slightly off of center, but classic; artfully disheveled without looking sloppy. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQezG6JMI/AAAAAAAABJs/EPaGFdoiYF4/s1600-h/Lino+cuffs+undone.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQezG6JMI/AAAAAAAABJs/EPaGFdoiYF4/s320/Lino+cuffs+undone.jpg" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQiQJGD7I/AAAAAAAABKE/RhlMIYlLaoI/s1600-h/lino+ieluzzi+blue+raincoat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StbQiQJGD7I/AAAAAAAABKE/RhlMIYlLaoI/s320/lino+ieluzzi+blue+raincoat.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
<br />
Lino Ieluzzi pushes the boundaries of style with his personal choices and pushes the boundaries of style for the frequenters of Al Bazar. Milan is better off with Ieluzzi's style keeping things fresh and un-stuffy. In fact we are all better off with Lino Ieluzzi and Al Bazar. <br />

Arguably the best made-to-wear shoes in the world are Berluti. They are a French company that have a few places in two stores in New York, one store in Los Angeles, Las Vegas & Dallas, as well as stores all over Europe that sell the masterpiece shoes.<br />

They have been making shoes 1895 and have some of the most beautiful patinas on the brown shoes that they make. The shoes all are the most luxurious and highest quality shoes that can be bought. They are classic and traditional, but also groundbreaking and quite bizarre. The most beautiful versions in my opinion are the minimalist sleek designs made from a single piece of leather. But then again I think for some reason if I wore the purple Berluti shoes few people would have room to mock.<br />
<br />

<br />
They seem to be able to cross the line between appropriate and inappropriate, classic and informal, elegant and gaudy without ever being a shoe that I would not be proud to own and wear with most any suit I own. For Berluti I think it is simple, luxury, quality and style are apparent in every shoe made and those three things are of the highest level made of any shoe in the market.<br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">A few weeks ago I went to the John Varvatos Warehouse sale at the Convention Center in Downtown. I was disappointed in the selection but I did find a pair of lightweight chinos, which had to be shortened by a tailor to fit my legs. After finding the time to take them in and pick them up again, they are finally back. Shortened to my preferred hem length the chinos look great, well at least as good as anything can look on me.<br />

Excuse the horrible pictures, I am not adept at taking pictures in mirrors, but I will try to get better. Also realize the pants look as those they have a stain on them, which is in reality a smudge on the mirror and not the pants. I also provided a picture of my complete outfit which was taken in the hallway mirror, excuse the bad lighting. I am certainly glad that we have fall like weather in LA, at least for the beginning of the week. It is nice to break out the sweaters and trench/over coats. We are supposed to have weather in the mid 60s with a chance of rain for the first three days of the week, before it jumps back up to the 80s. LA weather certainly keeps you on your toes this time of year.<br />

</div><br />
Today, I decided to wear the new John Varvatos pants, I am always antsy to wear the new stuff, with green gray slip-ons. On top is a blue micro-check gingham light blue & white shirt, a navy sweater with a blue gray, light blue & white argyle pattern on the front. And finally, a Banana Republic trench coat just in case it rains, like the weather man warned. The trench coat might be the best pick up of the early fall, I bought it on sale for $35 since few in LA feel the need to be appropriately prepared for rain, rain essentials are often steeply discounted at retail chains so that they will not take up space in the stores for long. One of the advantages of living in LA, a disadvantage is the selection is always drastically limited.<br />
<br />
After all the ramblings, I have to say I am pleased with the John Varvatos Warehouse Sale purchase.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-6252504405708815942009-10-11T09:48:00.000-07:002009-10-11T09:53:53.406-07:00Big Black Book - Fall 2009<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StIML24kevI/AAAAAAAABFc/GzbKL0c5sJM/s1600-h/big+black+book.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/StIML24kevI/AAAAAAAABFc/GzbKL0c5sJM/s320/big+black+book.gif" /></a><br />

</div><br />
Weekend brunch is great time to kick back, enjoy a meal and some good friends. It's a time to eat plenty of good food, chowing down on anything and everything from well cooked lamb roast to giant waffle with strawberries fresh whipped cream and plenty of honey. What other meal are you allowed to mix two great foods like that? Plus it is socially acceptable to enjoy a few mimosas or adult beverages, all before noon. Could there be a better way to enjoy a three hour meal that starts before noon? A weekend brunch always begs the question: "what to wear?"<br />
<br />
For a weekend brunch I want to look nice, modern and successful, but also look relaxed and use the bright day to my advantage. During the summer, a brunch is the perfect time to wear a linen suit or your favorite white/off-white suit. Fresco also works great in the summer as well. But now that we are in the fall and heading to winter, how do you dress appropriately for a nice weekend brunch?<br />
<br />
I think brunch is a perfect occasion to break out the odd jacket. The jacket that comes in an interesting color, fabric or texture or all three. It is the least formal blazer that you own. It is the one that you wear on occasional Fridays to spice up the wardrobe. The odd jacket you choose should stand out in the crowd for its great combination of colors, without looking gaudy and out of place. The odd jacket should also utilize some fun colors that work well in the early afternoon sunlight. I always love an odd jacket with a great accent color like: light blue, purple, yellow or pink. It can be further accentuated with a playful and colorful pocket silk. <br />
<br />
The Weekend Blazer from <a href="http://www.indochino.com/">Indochino</a> is the perfect brunch jacket. It has a classic check design with a yellow/goldish accent color. It has two front patch pockets to make it more casual. It is also single<br />
breasted three button, roll to two button design, which I think rock and look very Sprezzatura. Wear the odd jacket with crisp dark raw denim jeans, a pair of well polished boots and a button down shirt that accents the jacket.<br />
<br />
With the Weekend Blazer I would stick to a plain white shirt, or a white shirt with a pale orange check or stripes, as the orange would work well with the yellow in the jacket, without coming off as too matching. For the area of the country that are little colder wear a v-neck sweater over a crisp white shirt for extra layering. The sweater could be a mid-gray, pumpkin, brown or a light yellow.<br />
<br />
For a good weekend brunch, let the jacket be the stand-out piece.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-18643592439896222482009-10-07T15:21:00.000-07:002009-10-09T06:51:51.195-07:00The "Italian background"<div class="mobile-photo" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Ss0VDI5rOAI/AAAAAAAABFM/6D4ibopeu2I/s1600-h/biz-752282.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389987472705533954" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Ss0VDI5rOAI/AAAAAAAABFM/6D4ibopeu2I/s320/biz-752282.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Italians love to wear a navy tie and light blue shirt with almost everything they wear. It can be considered the "Italian background" for a suit. It is conservative, classic and perfect for business. It might be the most universally appropriate shirt & tie combination. While it can be dull looking, it has tremendous value in its versatility and classical pairing. Keep this pairing in mind when you want to push the boundaries in other areas of your outfit.<br />
<br />
If you want to wear a brightly or vibrantly colored pocket square or an offbeat colored odd jacket or an odd vest with your suit. The "Italian background" will work great. It works with most any suit made, since it is so conservative, classic and quite frankly dull. This conservative base allows for risks be taken in other areas without the outfit looking inappropriate. The "Italian background" grounds the outfit in a classic heritage that allows for the suits, pocket squares and odd jackets to be any thing but conservative. Whenever you are not sure what will work with the new odd jacket that you just bought, think about the "Italian background", it will take the outfit from risky to downright dandy.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-57306758439184529822009-10-07T06:00:00.000-07:002009-10-07T06:00:10.688-07:00Style Profile - Duke of Windsor<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

The Duke of Windsor might have been one of the best dressed people to ever walk the earth. He owned the double breasted suit, practically invented the rules to wearing suits, epitomized the idea of permanent style and he collection of suits are highly sought after in auctions.<br />
<br />
The Duke of Windsor lived in his suits, except when on the golf course. His tuxedos were as impressive as his suits. His suits all fit him perfectly, were all bespoke and all had subtle flairs that are mimicked by designers to this day. His father was even credited with the reason that no man should ever button the last button on a vest. This is such a hard and fast rule that the best tailors will often make the vest without a real buttonhole for the last button, since it should never be done. He certainly let his style be influenced with the ebbs and flows of the tides of fashion and in fact was so unwavering that the fashion of the times was influenced by his permanent stylistic approach.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-88389934592914230422009-10-06T06:00:00.000-07:002009-10-06T06:00:02.250-07:00Style Profile - Tom Wolfe<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF-_7thFI/AAAAAAAABDU/1UOwIwGNrNg/s1600-h/wolfe+overcoat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF-_7thFI/AAAAAAAABDU/1UOwIwGNrNg/s320/wolfe+overcoat.jpg" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF5aNLceI/AAAAAAAABCs/_4_CQh7SLQ0/s1600-h/Tom+Wolfe+red+pocket+square.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF5aNLceI/AAAAAAAABCs/_4_CQh7SLQ0/s320/Tom+Wolfe+red+pocket+square.gif" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF9FYBSjI/AAAAAAAABDE/_5r3XPr_VDw/s1600-h/Tom+Wolfe+White+suit+and+navy+tie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF9FYBSjI/AAAAAAAABDE/_5r3XPr_VDw/s320/Tom+Wolfe+White+suit+and+navy+tie.jpg" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF6On-5UI/AAAAAAAABC0/BhxdyuJluBs/s1600-h/Tom+wolfe+three+piece.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF6On-5UI/AAAAAAAABC0/BhxdyuJluBs/s320/Tom+wolfe+three+piece.jpg" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF7EQPYTI/AAAAAAAABC8/8tvJCoa8i9w/s1600-h/Tom+wolfe+tuxedo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF7EQPYTI/AAAAAAAABC8/8tvJCoa8i9w/s320/Tom+wolfe+tuxedo.jpg" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF2zgH_vI/AAAAAAAABCc/v_pdajF5rnU/s1600-h/Tom+Wolfe+Blue+shirt,jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsmF2zgH_vI/AAAAAAAABCc/v_pdajF5rnU/s320/Tom+Wolfe+Blue+shirt,jpg" /></a><br />

Tom Wolfe is the master of the white suit. Few people have ever been able to utilize less color to such a great advantage as Tom Wolfe. He also made the white suit and lack of color in general such a regular staple of his wardrobe that the addition of any color at all provides an unexpected and elegant pop of color. If a man wants to wear a white suit impeccably, he should think of Tom Wolfe's example. Simple and powerful accessories, vibrant colors, expertly tailored and beautifully arranged. Tom Wolfe the King of the White Suit.<br />

Paul Newman was the king of a sophisticated style. He was able to cross from weekend casual to suit & tie and then to motorcycle and car racing without a problem. He was always very masculine in everything he wore and looked good into his old age. He was still looked genuine in rugged weekend wear as much as anything else he wore. Newman's style was classic, male and based on utilizing basic building blocks to make a strong overall wardrobe.<br />

</div>He had classically tailored suits, well made boots, utilitarian peacoats and dock appropriate topsiders. Newman wore the right stylistic elements when they were supposed to be worn. He never looked out of place or like he tried too hard to find the right outfit. Everything fit well together, since it was built on basic essentials that every wardrobe should be built around. He wore white oxford shirts, navy blue ties, rugged work coats, navy double breasted suits and weekend chinos. And he wore each item when they were supposed to be worn. He never made the outfits work too hard to fit in. Essentially he wore the clothes, he never let the clothes wear him.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">A pop of color is best done with well selected accessories. In the example above a purple sweater and white shirt are worn with a simple gray suit. These pieces can be found anywhere and are in most men's closets. It is the scarf and pocket square that make this outfit noticeable and unique. The yellow, blue & purple are found in the scarf and the pocket square, but in different patterns. They play with each other without looking like a pre-planned set. There overall appearance would also be minimized once the outfit is worn, but the pops of color are still quite noticeable and pleasant to the eye. <br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It must be noted that all of the items have classic styling and by themselves would not be memorable. Only when they are put together do the items pop. The purple background of the sweater is key too, since it is a complimentary color to the yellow and works in both the pocket square and scarf. The colors in this outfit all work off the <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/09/art-of-color-what-colors-go-well.html">color wheel</a>, which is a key to making sure the pop of color matches and not clashes.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">This outfit would also work with a plain yellow scarf and a purple & yellow pocket square. Simplicity may be more the style that you prefer, which is always a classic. <br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">When looking for a pop of color, think classic styles, simple basic colors and keep them complimentary. In formal or casual wear, this concept will work great. Sprezzatura is all about keeping people on their toes with colors, style and wear.<br />

Stick with buying only Round Toe Shoes, they are real the only type of shoe that is acceptable. <br />
<br />
<b>Round Toe Shoes -</b><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYChnV70PI/AAAAAAAAA-g/BT7ftN5uCes/s1600-h/Round+toe+cap+Shoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYChnV70PI/AAAAAAAAA-g/BT7ftN5uCes/s320/Round+toe+cap+Shoes.jpg" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYCjR7KE7I/AAAAAAAAA-o/lDmNqGIQAIE/s1600-h/Round+toe+boots.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYCjR7KE7I/AAAAAAAAA-o/lDmNqGIQAIE/s320/Round+toe+boots.jpg" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYC9QvE5dI/AAAAAAAAA-4/GDj8ywPJwIg/s1600-h/Shoe+-+Bruno+Magli+" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYC9QvE5dI/AAAAAAAAA-4/GDj8ywPJwIg/s320/Shoe+-+Bruno+Magli+" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYDdX8btEI/AAAAAAAAA_A/c9R1WK2CeE8/s1600-h/shoes+-+monk+double+buckle" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYDdX8btEI/AAAAAAAAA_A/c9R1WK2CeE8/s320/shoes+-+monk+double+buckle" /></a><br />
</div>Round Toe Shoes are really the only type of shoes a man should wear. They are classic and attractive, accentuating the shape and size of the foot. Whether the shoe is a casual shoe, a boot or a dress shoe, it is always safest to stick with the round toe shoes. <br />
<br />
<b>Square Toe Shoes -</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYEsWJGMcI/AAAAAAAAA_I/Hp0iB5SwSa8/s1600-h/Square+toe+shoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYEsWJGMcI/AAAAAAAAA_I/Hp0iB5SwSa8/s320/Square+toe+shoes.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Men can wear square toe shoes, but it is not recommended. Square toe shoes shot to popularity in the early '90s and have since gone out of style, yet they still seem to be made by shoe makers everywhere. The square toe shoes are chunky and ineffective at minimizing the shape and size of the foot. Shoes should accentuate the foot, yet the square toe actually adds unnecessary size to the foot.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Pointed Toe Shoe -</b><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYF4W7Y9DI/AAAAAAAAA_Q/ydF3wYAc8x8/s1600-h/Pointed+brown+shoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYF4W7Y9DI/AAAAAAAAA_Q/ydF3wYAc8x8/s320/Pointed+brown+shoes.jpg" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYF5Oth47I/AAAAAAAAA_Y/BXxLZz1uVM4/s1600-h/Pointed+Toe+Shoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYF5Oth47I/AAAAAAAAA_Y/BXxLZz1uVM4/s320/Pointed+Toe+Shoes.jpg" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYF-cVALOI/AAAAAAAAA_o/1cfnr9W2NZM/s1600-h/Pointed+Toe+Oxfords.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsYF-cVALOI/AAAAAAAAA_o/1cfnr9W2NZM/s320/Pointed+Toe+Oxfords.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Pointed shoe toes should never be considered as an option for any man. I could speak on all of the disadvantages of wearing pointed toe shoes, including making the wearer look like a douchebag and a try-hard, but I prefer to let<span style="font-size: small;"><span id="btAsinTitle"> </span></span><span> </span><span style="font-size: small;"><span id="btAsinTitle">another writers assessment of pointed toe shoes stand as the only critique needed. Nicholas Antongiavanni author of <i>The Suit: A Machiavellian Approach to Men's Style </i>simply stated the "Pointed toes are for women".</span></span><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnvWJdbMI/AAAAAAAAA9w/dkT8pfdrs0Y/s1600-h/dark-grey-canali-suit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnvWJdbMI/AAAAAAAAA9w/dkT8pfdrs0Y/s320/dark-grey-canali-suit.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Gray Suit</b> – The most versatile dress wear in the closet, the <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/09/always-list-gray-suit.html">gray suit</a>. Make it a medium to dark 100% worsted wool suit from a top brand (Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Ben Silver, Brooks Brothers, J Crew), you will get the most use out of this suit. This is the workhorse suit in the wardrobe as it is the most formal suit and the only suit appropriate for weddings, funerals and interviews. This suit can be worn for business, a dinner party or a date. Spend the money on this suit and it will benefit you tremendously. Ideally, get this suit hand made and tailored specifically to you, if only one suit can be bespoke, this is one.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnQGEZvLI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/DnF6sen6h_k/s1600-h/Blazer+%26+Sweater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnQGEZvLI/AAAAAAAAA9Y/DnF6sen6h_k/s320/Blazer+%26+Sweater.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Navy Blazer</b> – A <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/09/always-list-navy-blazer.html">navy blazer</a> is the uniform of the American male. It can dressed up with a pair of slacks or dressed down with jeans and it will never look out of place. A navy blazer may be most at home with a pair of khakis and a button down shirt, few outfits have more classical appeal. The blazer is as American as apple pie and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Buy one with a modern slim fit, add some gold or brass buttons and you will look like an updated and hip Northeasterner who attended Warton or Harvard. The blue blazer is the best jacket to wear with a dress shirt and tie during the day and a simple t-shirt at night. Make sure it is well made, because you will be wearing it a lot.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNrTKyPmHI/AAAAAAAAA-I/iC99aMQRv_U/s1600-h/blue+oxford.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNrTKyPmHI/AAAAAAAAA-I/iC99aMQRv_U/s320/blue+oxford.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Blue Oxford Shirt</b> – Another quintessential piece of the American wardrobe. The blue <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/08/always-list-oxford-shirt.html">oxford shirt</a> has been worn by the best dressed in America for as long as anyone can remember. The Oxford shirt comes in many types, and while I would recommend one of each, at least have a nice one ready when you need it. Dressed up or dressed down the Oxford is shirt for all occasions, except the most formal and somber.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNri4L_fvI/AAAAAAAAA-Y/b2XXySG0MZk/s1600-h/white+shirt.tiff" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNri4L_fvI/AAAAAAAAA-Y/b2XXySG0MZk/s320/white+shirt.tiff" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>White Pin-Point Collar Shirt</b> – If the Gray suit is the workhorse of the suits then the white dress shirt is the workhorse of the shirts. This shirt is the most formal of all the dress shirts, appropriate for every occasion, with a tie or not a white dress shirt is never a bad choice. It looks stunning under any suit or alone with jeans during the summer. Many a great wardrobe was compiled with the idiom: “You can never have too many good white shirts”.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnCiBpLMI/AAAAAAAAA9Q/9p2byu-sWio/s1600-h/apc-rawdenim.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnCiBpLMI/AAAAAAAAA9Q/9p2byu-sWio/s320/apc-rawdenim.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Dark Denim Jeans</b> – Straight or Slim cut clean, simple,<a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/08/always-list-jeans.html"> dark denim jeans</a>. They are simple, versatile, classic and always popular. Every wardrobe needs one pair of clean dark jeans. Avoid the fancy stitching, flashy pockets or complicated designs, the simpler the jeans the better, in this case minimalism goes a long way. Your closet should have multiple types of jeans, but these should be the first pair you buy.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNm6RJ62WI/AAAAAAAAA9I/V8cRdwvIZcU/s1600-h/mens+chino.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNm6RJ62WI/AAAAAAAAA9I/V8cRdwvIZcU/s320/mens+chino.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Chinos</b> – Every man should own a few pairs of these pants. Whether fixing the car in the garage or worn to work on a more casual day, chinos always look sharp. They are great for a casual coffee date and are the uniform of weekend trips. <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/07/essential-summer-fashion-must-haves_7533.html">Chinos</a> are easy to wear, last forever, always look good and are never out of place. They can be worn with a t-shirt, a polo, a button down or a blazer. Match them with dress shoes or <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/08/chuck-taylors-or-jack-purcells-how-do.html">Chuck Taylors</a>, chinos always look good. Make sure they are a modern slim fit and a durable material, cause they will be worn until they are frayed and stained and then worn some more.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNrcHbH7-I/AAAAAAAAA-Q/ucqOfzcn9C4/s1600-h/v-neck-sweater.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNrcHbH7-I/AAAAAAAAA-Q/ucqOfzcn9C4/s320/v-neck-sweater.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Gray V-Neck Sweater</b> – Stick with a light gray V-Neck Sweater, at first, since it is the most universal and will go with any color. The V-Neck can be worn over a shirt and tie for cold days in the winter or over a t-shirt and jeans for a night out. It can be thrown on with shorts for a night at the beach or chinos and a polo for a Sunday brunch. As you expand the wardrobe continue to add more colors of the V-Neck Sweater, but keep them plain to start. Plain sweaters are more useful as they can be matched with anything in the closet, only have you have every color and in cable knit version should you expand to limiting designs like argyle & striped.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnlLtFs2I/AAAAAAAAA9o/mgol0E4XiI8/s1600-h/Cap+Toe+Oxford+-+Johnston+%26+Murphy" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNnlLtFs2I/AAAAAAAAA9o/mgol0E4XiI8/s320/Cap+Toe+Oxford+-+Johnston+%26+Murphy" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Black Cap-Toe Oxfords</b> – This is most formal shoe you can own. It works with every suit made and is the only option for somber events, interviews and weddings. Keep them polished and in good condition because you will be in these shoes more than your car. Make sure the shoes are <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/08/oxfords-vs-blucher-distinction-is-key.html">Oxfords, not bluchers</a>, have a simple, clean and sleek design. These shoes must have wooden soles that can be replaced and simple laces. These are serious shoes worn with serious suits and should look the part. Also, for the sake of all things stylish make sure they have a rounded toe and are made from real leather. With as wear as these shoes will get, paying a little bit more for them is certainly worth the money.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNndWympMI/AAAAAAAAA9g/9-RBufF0d-A/s1600-h/Boot+-+Frye+engineer" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNndWympMI/AAAAAAAAA9g/9-RBufF0d-A/s320/Boot+-+Frye+engineer" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Brown Leather Boots</b> – Good quality <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/08/always-list-boots.html">leather boots</a> will keep your feet dry and be the perfect solution for situations that the shoes make take some wear and tear. Boots only get better with age and become more personalized as they take on wear and care.</li>
</ul><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNoKCRloMI/AAAAAAAAA-A/qnIzwKzK-wc/s1600-h/Tag+Heuer+Link+Automatic+-+%242000.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNoKCRloMI/AAAAAAAAA-A/qnIzwKzK-wc/s320/Tag+Heuer+Link+Automatic+-+%242000.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Timepiece</b> – A man needs a timepiece beyond his cell phone. Keep the <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/08/always-list-watch.html">watch</a> simple, basic and well made. Stick to silver band watches that can be worn with anything from a suit to jeans and a t-shirt.</li>
</ul><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNn9pwmEVI/AAAAAAAAA94/vcmu_jkaZi0/s1600-h/Ben+silver+wool+denim.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsNn9pwmEVI/AAAAAAAAA94/vcmu_jkaZi0/s200/Ben+silver+wool+denim.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><ul><li><b>Solid Color Neckties</b> – At first only a few solid color ties are all that are needed in the wardrobe, expansion from this point is certainly nice but is not needed until later. One solid blue gabardine tie, one solid dark red wool or <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/07/silk-knit-ties.html">silk knit tie</a> and one silk solid black or charcoal gray tie.</li>

</div>I went on Saturday afternoon to the <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/09/warehouse-sale-this-weekend-john.html">John Varvatos Warehouse Sale</a> in Downtown Los Angeles at the LA Convention Center, close to Staples Center and the Fashion District. <br />
<br />
Overall, I was fairly disappointed in the selection, I have been to much more enjoyable Warehouse sales with wider selections of clothes and accessories. The John Varvatos selection was limited and frankly disappointing. The jackets were odd looking with a minimal selection. The shirts were abundant, but nothing I was drawn to. The best stuff, were the pants, which fit great and had interesting designs. After trying on almost every style they had the only pair I could see myself wearing again were a pair of khaki dress pants. Originally the pants sold for $245, but were on sale for $50. <br />
<br />
I had to have the length tailored to fit, so I will provide a picture once they are have been finished. <br />
<br />
Since the shopping experience was such a dud, I ended up spending the afternoon scouring the Fashion District for deals. I will update you all on that adventure later on, the story is still evolving.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-61851420871042287552009-09-29T06:00:00.000-07:002009-09-29T06:00:06.445-07:00It's About a Wardrobe Not an Outfit<div><a href="http://www.polyvore.com/full_wardrobe/set?.mid=embed&id=12443759"><img alt="Full Wardrobe" border="0" height="400" src="http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-set/BQcDAAAAAwoDanBnAAAABC5vdXQKFlVzN2x6N3FzM2hHYTl4U3ZLdXhsZFEAAAACaWQKAWUAAAAEc2l6ZQ.jpg" title="Full Wardrobe" width="400" /></a><br />

</div><br />
When buying clothes focus on buying clothes that fill out your wardrobe as a whole, not clothes that fit specifically into an outfit. The clothes in your wardrobe should be versatile and interchangeable. The ties should be able to be worn with all your suits. The shirts should go with all of the ties. The suits should go with the shirts and so on. While one set of tie and shirt and suit may look great together, you can certainly switch it up as needed. <br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;"> Buying only outfits makes your clothes repetitive and predictable. When you wear the tweed jacket with the purple tie and white striped shirt every time, people will no longer think it is an interesting combination, and instead find your wardrobe boring and downright unoriginal. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;"> If you think of the wardrobe as a whole, with holes that need to be filled, then you will have more universal and interesting wardrobe. The clothes become puzzle pieces and fit together beautifully. The same shirt and jacket will work with every tie in closet. The gray suit works with every shirt in the wardrobe. The red silk knit tie will fill in that gap in the wardrobe you have been thinking about.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;"> This is way we stick to gray, blue and brown suits, in general, as they are more versatile and useful. And avoid black suits as they are limiting and eventually useless. We avoid suits with pinstripes in colors like pink and purple and green, since they limit the options on shirts and ties that we can wear with them.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;"> Only as we fill the holes of our wardrobe do we add the unusual pieces and colors. Having a dark gray suit, navy suit, tan suit, medium gray, light gray and brown suit do we expand to the pinstripes, glenn check, window pane and hounds-tooth suits. </div>Most men wear black shoes with dark colors and brown shoes with light colors. While a black cap toe <a href="http://dandyfashioner.blogspot.com/2009/08/oxfords-vs-blucher-distinction-is-key.html">Oxford</a> is needed in every closet, since it is the most formal and serious shoe made for a suit, brown is most versatile.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWngCeSlI/AAAAAAAAA7o/hpOViryRMrg/s1600-h/Brown+w+gray.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWngCeSlI/AAAAAAAAA7o/hpOViryRMrg/s320/Brown+w+gray.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
It is common that men under utilize the brown oxford shoe. Black shoes are commonly seen and worn almost as a rule where a brown shoe can add style, flair and make the outfit look smarter. Never fear wearing brown with dark colors, no matter the shade of brown, it goes well with any color suit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWtXnDBrI/AAAAAAAAA8I/eGY_cZxIENA/s1600-h/jcrew-aldridge-suit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWtXnDBrI/AAAAAAAAA8I/eGY_cZxIENA/s320/jcrew-aldridge-suit.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWwh3dYEI/AAAAAAAAA8g/XQ22jWjF7zQ/s1600-h/Tan+w+Brown+Shoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWwh3dYEI/AAAAAAAAA8g/XQ22jWjF7zQ/s320/Tan+w+Brown+Shoes.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
The men that do wear brown with darker colors, usually wear a dark brown shoe. This is quite acceptable and looks good, but personally I prefer the light brown or tan shoe. I especially enjoy a modeled brown shoe with colors ranging from tan to dark brown. I think a modeled brown shoe is the most versatile shoe made since it picks up all shades so well and it visually interesting. It is also a shoe that improves with age and time, growing character and becoming more personal.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWsZ3mQtI/AAAAAAAAA8A/HuFTwOvgRns/s1600-h/Gray+w+brown.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWsZ3mQtI/AAAAAAAAA8A/HuFTwOvgRns/s320/Gray+w+brown.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWk2IrczI/AAAAAAAAA7Y/yXLZ9rYyj8A/s1600-h/Black+w+brown.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWk2IrczI/AAAAAAAAA7Y/yXLZ9rYyj8A/s320/Black+w+brown.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Gray suits, no matter the shade, are benefited tremendously from the brown shoes. It brings out the richness of the suits fabric. Enhancing the colors and adding an interesting pop of color at the waist and at the shoe.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWoyHcDUI/AAAAAAAAA7w/dQOr1cLZGM4/s1600-h/brownshoes+w+pinstripes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWoyHcDUI/AAAAAAAAA7w/dQOr1cLZGM4/s320/brownshoes+w+pinstripes.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBXBwPSw9I/AAAAAAAAA84/B1_6ejeOtDM/s1600-h/Chuck+Bass+double+breasted.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBXBwPSw9I/AAAAAAAAA84/B1_6ejeOtDM/s320/Chuck+Bass+double+breasted.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Navy or Blue suits and brown shoes are a natural, in my opinion. Blue and Brown go well together and the colors enhance each other well. I think that black shoes actually take away some of the color and beauty found in a navy blue suit. I would only suggest wearing black suits with a blue suit in only the rarest occasions when formality is mandatory.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWm3MpR-I/AAAAAAAAA7g/RCLzyQCJ0kA/s1600-h/brown+shoes+%26+black+suit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SsBWm3MpR-I/AAAAAAAAA7g/RCLzyQCJ0kA/s320/brown+shoes+%26+black+suit.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Brown shoes even work with black. Brown shoes and a belt pop with a black suit, highlighting the craftsmanship of both. While I generally do not condone a black suit, this is a great technique to send focus to the shoes and belt. <br />

Keep the brown shoes with only minor brogue work and a beautiful and sleek last (a term referring to the shoes silhouette) and they can be worn for almost any occasion with any suit. Brown is much better than black.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-31585092430064033602009-09-27T13:00:00.000-07:002009-09-27T13:06:18.307-07:00Bespoke Suits Everyone Can AffordSince we all know that suits are all about fit, the best way to achieve a perfect fit is by ordering a hand made suit. Bespoke suits can fit all types of bodies and will make you look better than even the most expensive designer suits. In most cases considerably better, since almost no body types fit designer suits.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EXsGD22I/AAAAAAAAA6Q/VgYLz8ZmYlE/s1600-h/Metallic+Gray+Back.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EXsGD22I/AAAAAAAAA6Q/VgYLz8ZmYlE/s320/Metallic+Gray+Back.jpg" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EZU2WrNI/AAAAAAAAA6Y/E0ugNnmmyYM/s1600-h/Metallic+Gray+Suit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EZU2WrNI/AAAAAAAAA6Y/E0ugNnmmyYM/s320/Metallic+Gray+Suit.jpg" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_Eb97ANLI/AAAAAAAAA6g/z3T6khn-Moo/s1600-h/Metallic+Suit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_Eb97ANLI/AAAAAAAAA6g/z3T6khn-Moo/s320/Metallic+Suit.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
The one problem with bespoke suits is the cost. Unfortunately, most men can not afford to only have bespoke suits in their wardrobe. Even though a few bespoke suits will go much farther than a wardrobe of ill fitting off the rack suits. Even man needs bespoke.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EdZFFXlI/AAAAAAAAA6o/fvzg4Yv9pPI/s1600-h/Navy+Blazer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EdZFFXlI/AAAAAAAAA6o/fvzg4Yv9pPI/s320/Navy+Blazer.jpg" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EeCfLk3I/AAAAAAAAA6w/vV-WmE2MRbA/s1600-h/Navy+Trench+Coat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EeCfLk3I/AAAAAAAAA6w/vV-WmE2MRbA/s320/Navy+Trench+Coat.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
Well finally there is an opportunity for every man to obtain bespoke. <a href="http://www.indochino.com/">Indochino</a>, offer bespoke suits tailored and made in China for $250 to $500. They offer bespoke suits, blazers, slacks, shirts and ties. They even have bespoke overcoats, which are incredibly attractive. Each suit comes in limited quantities, which probably holds down costs. The suits range from the conservative to the fashion forward. They even make bespoke tuxedos, which is a much better option than renting, in every possible way.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EfT9zC8I/AAAAAAAAA64/w-zFoAWJEUw/s1600-h/Shawl+Collar+Tuxedo+-+369.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_EfT9zC8I/AAAAAAAAA64/w-zFoAWJEUw/s320/Shawl+Collar+Tuxedo+-+369.jpg" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_Eg8avdfI/AAAAAAAAA7A/DOuAdE0PpRg/s1600-h/Trench+Coat+-+%24249.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_Eg8avdfI/AAAAAAAAA7A/DOuAdE0PpRg/s320/Trench+Coat+-+%24249.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
The suits are all slimmer European cut. They look to be Drape cut suits, but it is hard to tell, most likely they are a slim fit Continental cut made to look like a Drape cut. The pants are also slim. You just need to provide various measurements to Indochino and they will make it to your specifications. I recommend going to a local tailor and having them measure you for a minimal cost, so that you know the measurements have been done correctly.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_Ej8u278I/AAAAAAAAA7I/3vAxC9DB9UA/s1600-h/Weekend+Blazer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Sr_Ej8u278I/AAAAAAAAA7I/3vAxC9DB9UA/s320/Weekend+Blazer.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
I have not tried making a suit with <a href="http://www.indochino.com/">Indochino</a> yet, but I certainly would like to try it out. Let me know if you use the service, so we can report on the success or possible failure.<br />

It was developed by the English, but have expanded from there. It has soft, light or unpadded “natural” shoulders, side vents an hourglass shape and a high waist on the jacket. It can be single or double breasted. The term Drape refers to how the suit is built. The structure of a Drape jacket comes from layers of fabric on the chest and back that drape down from the shoulders. These layers of cloth keep the jacket full in the chest, but allow for freedom of movement and a soft, supple look. This jacket will follow the body and move with the individual. Some feel that construction of a Drape cut suit requires the most skill as a tailor. Drape suits were worn by Fred Astaire and Duke of Windsor and others with impeccable taste.<br />

It has its history in military uniforms and is identified by it very structured design. Continental suits have structured and defined shoulders, typically high & more squared shoulders. A true Continental cut will be close-fitting with a defined waist line. The skirt of the jacket can either flare out or hang straight. The suit has a solid and structured look and in a classic model is ventless. It will have very clean lines in the chest and back, but will limit the range of motion. This suit was popularized on wall street and “serious” business and is often called a power business suit. Donald Trump will only wear a Continental cut suit as will other power brokers of business.<br />

They are shapeless and are common for on the rack suits. The jackets flow straight down from the shoulders in a shapeless sack like shape. The body of the suit is roomy and typically has a single center vent. Classic sack suits are three-button suits, but now they are made in many different variations. The sack suit was originated in America by large retailers who needed to make a suit that fit everyone. J. Press is one of the most high profile makers of the Sack cut suit. The modern version of the sack suit is now a little more tailored, but it is still designed to fit the masses. It is the least flattering of the three suits, since it is designed to fit everyone it in turn fits no one.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-73888287807601161942009-09-25T09:08:00.000-07:002009-09-26T00:56:29.179-07:00Warehouse Sale This Weekend - John Varvatos<div class="mobile-photo" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SrzrtJvnk_I/AAAAAAAAA54/w0FjyO7PJAA/s1600-h/JOHN-V%7E1-792716.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385438415370556402" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SrzrtJvnk_I/AAAAAAAAA54/w0FjyO7PJAA/s320/JOHN-V%7E1-792716.JPG" /></a><br />

</div>Bring on the deals! Tonight, tomorrow & Sunday is the John Varvatos Warehouse Sale in Los Angeles. They are filling up the convention store with clothes that are up to 90% off and selling them off. Like most Warehouse sales it is clothes from past seasons as well as irregulars, so try everything on. Each day the prices will drop but so will the best items. You have to register before hand for the event, but it is worth checking it out. <br />
<br />
I am definitely checking in out on Saturday. I wish I could make it on Friday night, but I already have plans. I personally am hoping that they have some good accessories, shoes and slacks. They may even have a suit, but I doubt they will have it in my size. I really dig the John Varvatos converse shoes, hopefully they will have those on sale and in my size. <br />
<br />
<b>A few more hints: </b><br />
<br />
<ul><li>Accessories (watches, sunglasses, etc.) & shoes are the best deals at the Warehouse sales. Not that the items are the cheapest, but they are high quality and a lot less expensive then you will find in stores.</li>
<li>Grab pants in your size and one size up and one size down, and grab a bunch of pairs before trying them on. It is a community dressing room so it is really a hassle to try stuff on, make it worth your time. </li>
<li>Remember you can tailor it. If the pants fit but are too long, buy them and have them tailored. If the jacket sleeves are too long, you can have them tailored. If the pants are slightly big, but fit otherwise, have them tailored. You probably won't find clothes that fit perfectly at a Warehouse sale so rely on a tailor to make the few nips and tucks needed to make it fit. It will be less expensive than buying it new.</li>
<li>Remember a tailor can't fix everything. If the jeans are too small, a tailor can't help. If the jacket is too big all around, a tailor can make it smaller, but it will lose its silhouette. A good tailor can help make your clothes fit, but they are not a miracle worker.</li>
<li>You can't take the items back. Once they have been bought you won't be able to exchange them or return them. Buy them only if you are going to wear them.</li>
</ul>Maybe I will see you there! The key to choosing the right colors for the right occasions is all about the color wheel. If you imagine the color wheel when you are picking out the colors of your outfit you will have no problem making sure your outfit matches and the colors all go well together. With suits and most men’s clothes sticking to solid color ties and solid color suits makes it that much easier to play around with color matching. Color matching with a lot of patterns is very difficult to do well and something I would not recommend.<br /><br />A couple of basic rules: Gray & White are neutral colors. They go with any color in the rainbow. If in doubt wear a neutral shirt (white) or neutral suit (gray). Brown shoes and Black shoes are both universal. They go with any color suit and any color combination. Personally I have my preferences with shoe color, but there is not a wrong choice. Also it must be noted that khaki pants & jeans in the fashion world are considered neutral colors, wear them with any colors and it will work well.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7Q55dXQI/AAAAAAAAA34/H9DEyZzAOf8/s1600-h/Color+Wheel.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 382px; height: 382px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7Q55dXQI/AAAAAAAAA34/H9DEyZzAOf8/s400/Color+Wheel.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385244416034036994" border="0" /></a>The most basic color match is to keep items within the same color family, but different shades. Wearing a navy blue suit a blue and gray tie and a light blue shirt will always work well. Wearing colors that are varying degrees of depth and darkness is considered a monochromatic look. This is a sophisticated and conservative look, but that is never a bad thing.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7GZvLjhI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/ITdWgoJNO0k/s1600-h/Color+Wheel+-+Compliment.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 382px; height: 382px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7GZvLjhI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/ITdWgoJNO0k/s400/Color+Wheel+-+Compliment.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385244235602300434" border="0" /></a>Looking at a color wheel you can see that each color has its opposite and complimentary color. Going around the circle the complimentary color is the one that is directly opposite it on the other side of the wheel. Purple is opposite yellow, blue is opposite orange, red is opposite green, etc. This is a simple complimentary color match and will always work in fashion. These color matches are often found in neck ties. Red and Green rep ties are quite common, as are blue and orange patterns. If you have a light blue shirt wear it with a dark orange tie and you will look very sharp. This also explains why light green and pink match so well.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7GLfjVQI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/ZFjthD48KzU/s1600-h/Color+Wheel+-+Color+Triangle.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 382px; height: 382px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7GLfjVQI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/ZFjthD48KzU/s400/Color+Wheel+-+Color+Triangle.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385244231778653442" border="0" /></a>Now looking at the color wheel, draw a balanced triangle in the color wheel and those three colors all match each other. Take for example: Blue, Yellow and Red. They form a basic color triangle that will match the colors well. This is why you can wear a navy blazer, a red pocket square and yellow tie with gray slacks or khakis and you will look great. Drawing the same triangle for any set of colors will result in an outfit that is very attractive without feeling like it was overly planned out and matchy.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7RnmFmnI/AAAAAAAAA4I/hL84hTHIdcc/s1600-h/Color+Wheel+-+One+Side+Triangle.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 382px; height: 382px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7RnmFmnI/AAAAAAAAA4I/hL84hTHIdcc/s400/Color+Wheel+-+One+Side+Triangle.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385244428300819058" border="0" /></a>Once you have mastered the color triangle you can make a two color match with any two colors at are connected by a side of the triangle. In the example above red and blue are connected with the base of the triangle. Those two colors are fantastic to match together. A blue shirt, a red knit tie and a double breasted navy jacket is one of the most classic and beautiful outfits a man can wear. I love that color combination for work and for a date. This will work with any side of the triangle as you rotate it around the color wheel. This is the reason blue and green work so well together.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7HjRMaOI/AAAAAAAAA3w/Y7y48UMfVe4/s1600-h/Color+Wheel+-+wedge.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 382px; height: 382px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7HjRMaOI/AAAAAAAAA3w/Y7y48UMfVe4/s400/Color+Wheel+-+wedge.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385244255340751074" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7HCgW5sI/AAAAAAAAA3o/GkXLgtWZ2mU/s1600-h/Color+Wheel+-+one+side+wedge.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 382px; height: 382px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srw7HCgW5sI/AAAAAAAAA3o/GkXLgtWZ2mU/s400/Color+Wheel+-+one+side+wedge.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5385244246545983170" border="0" /></a>Another color match is the wedge triangle, which is depicted above. In this case dark blue, maroon and yellow are all connected via the wedge. These three colors match well together and can have a great balance. As do any of the colors in a wedge triangle. Just like the basic color triangle you can match just two colors of a wedge triangle and wear those together. This is why maroon and navy blue are often found together in ties and shirts.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3158804291944967555.post-72850628167687362452009-09-23T06:00:00.000-07:002009-09-23T06:00:03.647-07:00Suit: Three kind of Vents<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srh_zTfTl4I/AAAAAAAAA2g/J_D0YNfOG4g/s1600-h/vents-suits1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 174px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/Srh_zTfTl4I/AAAAAAAAA2g/J_D0YNfOG4g/s400/vents-suits1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384193873903064962" border="0" /></a>When looking to buy a suit, you should notice the kind of vents the suit has. The vents are often forgotten but can either help out your physique or hurt it. They are also a signal for how dressy a suit is. Don't over look the vents. The three kinds of vents are: Center Vent, Side Vents and No Vent.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB3b7-CLI/AAAAAAAAA2o/y36i_VTgL4Y/s1600-h/center+vent+1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 325px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB3b7-CLI/AAAAAAAAA2o/y36i_VTgL4Y/s400/center+vent+1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384196143913502898" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB39iy-PI/AAAAAAAAA2w/XlXIZBwW0YA/s1600-h/center+vent.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB39iy-PI/AAAAAAAAA2w/XlXIZBwW0YA/s400/center+vent.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384196152934725874" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold;">Center Vent</span> - This is the cut up the middle of the jacket. It is typically found on the more casual blazer and suits. It is a very American cut, but offers little benefit to your figure. Center vents are the most common vent, so every closet will have them. Despite the commonality, they offer no benefit to the physique of the wearer. Just make sure that when the jacket is on that the center vent is closed. An open vent means that the jacket does not fit right.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB4vWxYvI/AAAAAAAAA3A/-oZAiVIX8kE/s1600-h/side+vents.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 325px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB4vWxYvI/AAAAAAAAA3A/-oZAiVIX8kE/s400/side+vents.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384196166306063090" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB4H-sm0I/AAAAAAAAA24/dgutLNSGv94/s1600-h/side+vents+2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 219px; height: 219px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB4H-sm0I/AAAAAAAAA24/dgutLNSGv94/s400/side+vents+2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384196155736103746" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold;">Side Vents</span> - are found on either side of the back panel of the jacket. Side vents offer a great range of motion and typically found on more modern suits. The English prefer the side vents as they are considered more proper and formal. Side vents also benefit most men's physique. Men with extra girth should always opt for side vents as the two vertical lines in the back of the suit are slimming. Side vents also allow the back of the suit to lay flat, no matter the body type. I always try to buy my full suits with side vents.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB5GRaRCI/AAAAAAAAA3I/XPI0E638zKs/s1600-h/Ventless.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 166px; height: 251px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_DvyYQdnG-5E/SriB5GRaRCI/AAAAAAAAA3I/XPI0E638zKs/s400/Ventless.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384196172457591842" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold;">No Vent or Ventless</span> - Jackets with no vents provide a very slimming shape to the wearer, but limit the range of motion. The look when standing is clean and sleek. It is a formal look, often used in Tuxedos. If you don't mind the restricted movement, then a ventless jacket can help any man look slimmer, especially a hefty man. That being said, I will always opt for the side vents as the range of motion is an important factor to me.<br /><br />Remember to check the vents before buying your next suit.Sprezzaturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12951104592180536711noreply@blogger.com0
